If I were going to buy a car soon – which I’m not – but if I were, which one would it be? I’m obsessed with this question. I like to think about these hypothetical situations.

My first choice would be a 2006 (current generation) Mazda MX-5 (aka Miata). This car is fun to drive, reliable, sporty and not very expensive. This current generation is larger, heavier, rides smoother, but till has that sports car feel – I would imagine. I hope to test drive one.

My second choice would be a Honda S2000. I got a chance to drive one of these and it was great, except for a slippery back end. T his car looks great! It’s pure sports car – maybe more that I really want. I like this car because it’s unique. It preforms like a Porsche but runs like a Honda and costs around 1/2 as much.

My third choice is a Nissan 350Z. If I were to chose one with a fixed roof, this would be it. I like it because it reminds me of the original 240z which I have liked for many years. It’s the new Porsche 911 – besides, I can’t afford a 911.

I like the Porsche Boxter, but from what I have read, I get the feeling it would be very expensive to own. Plus I would have to buy an older car.
